Proverbs 20:15 Lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.
Welcome!
We're glad you stopped by for a visit and hope you enjoy your time here learning about basic beading.
Do we have you a little curious as to who Betty Beader is? It is no great secret. But if you allow us to take just a moment to introduce ourselves to you.
My story is a bit different than what you might be experiencing. After all, I am a fictitious character created from someone's imagination.
But I play a vital role for her...and you.
First, let me explain you to the voice that created me and the face behind Betty Beader.
This is Teri, the voice of Betty Beader, and this is our story...
We'll do our best to keep this short. If you want the extended version, then you'll have to wait for our biography...'The Life of a Beading Instructor'. ;)
We share our own story of our 'bead'-ginnings, which may sound more similar to your story. We know what you are dealing with in the struggles of learning how to learn to make simple basic jewelry.
But here...we wanted to share how Betty came about. She was a lifesaver, and we quickly became the best of friends. Granted, Betty Beader is a 'make-believe' friend, but she is still vital to this process.
From our early days, when we knew without a doubt that we wanted to instruct others how to make jewelry, we worked with two voices. We had a student voice [after all, we were still learning new things], and then there was an instructor's voice [sharing our latest discoveries with you].
We were able to handle it for the most part in doses. We taught in various venues in our local area. It was moving along nicely, and we really enjoyed the process.
Being a wife and mother, life would have its minor, manageable hiccups. This was a hobby.
One day it occurred to us...the kids were growing up and needed less and less of our attention. What then?
Grow our instruction classes. As one thing leads to another, we wanted a website to reach a wider audience.
That started a whole new set of challenges of learning the internet differently. [still another story]
You've heard the saying..."Necessity is the Mother of Invention"?
Well?...
Cutting to the chase, 2013 started off with a bang and proved to be a very stressful year with family obligations. We had to find an avenue to escape so we could deal with real life.
Beading had become our refuge and our solace. It brought simplicity in what felt like what was becoming the complexities of life.
Teaching others is joyful. It is a boost of energy every time people walk away from class with a huge smile. They had a sense of accomplishment. They just made a piece of jewelry all by themselves.
But we reached a point we had to define our instructor's voice outside of ourselves. We needed to be able to instantly step into character. That is when Betty Beader came to life and have been best friends ever since.
And now, we share her with you. Betty Beader helps you find your way through all the other voices telling you to do it this way or that way.
Betty Beader is 'your' beading for beginners instructor walking you through this process of step-by-step simplistic beading instructions. Although, her voice comes from our desire to help you, the beginner.
There is always more to the story, but that will have to wait until another day.
For now...
If you are at a beginners' stage and feel overwhelmed, allow us to help you find your way through the process. You will be creating beautiful pieces that only we will know just how simple it was.
Unless you tell, no one will know you made it. If you do tell, then they will be asking you to make one for them.
If you are still undecided, then visit around the site and make yourself at home. We hope you decide to stay.
We suggest you begin with the 'my first...' series. Let that evolve you through the process of learning how to make jewelry.
Stop by 'Bead Talk' and let us know you have been by for a visit. Also, be sure to share it with your friends.
Now let's get beading...
